
Moldovan parliament speaker has bilateral meetings with counterparts from Poland, Canada, Ireland, Austria in Strasbourg
Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu participated in the European Conference of Presidents of Parliament, held in Strasbourg on 20-21 March, under the aegis of the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe. The event brought together over 60 parliament speakers and deputy speakers, along with about 400 delegates.
On the sidelines of the conference, Igor Grosu had bilateral meetings with counterparts from Poland, Canada, Ireland and Austria. The discussions were focused on Moldova’s progress made in the European integration process, energy security, consolidation of the democracy and fight against misinformation.
„The energy security, combating the disinformation and consolidation of the rule of law state are priorities of our governance. I am happy that we enjoy the support of our partners from the European Council in these efforts,’’ Grosu said.
The parliament speaker reaffirmed Moldova’s commitment for the European integration path and stressed the importance of the inter-parliamentary cooperation.
„The discussions with our colleagues help us make concrete steps towards the accession to the European Union. The support which we receive motivate us to continue this way,’’ the official added.
The European Conference of Presidents of Parliament marked 50 years since its first edition.
