The year 2025, which is ending, has been was a good year, during which the  Moldova proved resilience and successfully passed 'all exams and challenges,' Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu said. The speaker also said that he would welcome the year 2026 at home with his family and hopes it would bring peace.

Igor Grosu expressed his respect for the citizens of Moldova, who chose European integration at the elections held. Even though it was complicated, Moldova resisted, Grosu emphasized.

‘’It was a good year; we passed all exams and challenges with flying colors. Even though it was complicated, we endured. We proved that our institutions and citizens withstood, particularly regarding the electoral campaign. We completed an electoral cycle with four electoral exercises, all successfully passed. This is important, respect to the citizens of Moldova,’’ Grosu noted.

The parliament speaker told journalists that he would welcome the New Year at home with his family, noting that the last day of the year was of special significance.

‘’At home, we are with family. For us, the day has a double significance, because we also have a celebrant in the family,’’ said Grosu.

For the coming year, Igor Grosu expects tranquility and peace. ‘’Nothing special, human things,’’ the official specified.

Referring to the priorities for 2026, Grosu emphasized that intense work would be done on the three clusters and that the Moldovan authorities expected political decisions from Brussels.

‘’The three clusters, we continue with this, getting into the groove. I hope we have more openness on the other three. We are awaiting the political decision, but obviously, the most important is peace and we are closely watching the negotiations,’’ said Igor Grosu.
