Labour and Social Protection Minister expected in Parliament as opposition files simple motion
Members of the parliamentary opposition today submitted a simple motion regarding the policies of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection. They asked Minister Natalia Plugaru to come to Parliament to explain the situation in the social sector.
The motion was presented by Ala Ursu-Antoci, an MP from the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova. She referred to demographic policies, the programme to support citizens during the cold season, and measures to assist vulnerable categories of citizens.
According to the legislation, a simple motion is an instrument through which Parliament expresses its position on an issue of domestic or foreign policy and may be initiated by at least 15 MPs.
In accordance with legal procedures, the motion must contain both grounds and dispositive provisions. It is submitted to the chair of the parliamentary sitting.
After receiving it, the chair informs the MPs about the motion, sets the date for the debate, and sends it to the Government. The debate is to take place within 14 working days from the submission, with the approval of the relevant standing committee.
The simple motion is adopted by a majority vote of the MPs present, and the decision is published in the Official Journal.
