
Prime Minister: I voted for common European future for Moldova and Romania
Prime Minister Dorin Recean voted today in the runoff presidential elections in Romania. The official said he voted for a common European future for the Republic of Moldova and Romania.
Additionally, the prime minister urged Romanian citizens in the Republic of Moldova to participate in the presidential elections in Romania, noting that every vote counts.
“I voted for a common European future for Moldova and Romania. Today and tomorrow, I urge Romanian citizens in the Republic of Moldova to participate in the presidential elections in Romania. Every vote counts!” Recean said.
For the runoff presidential elections in Romania, 64 polling stations were opened in the Republic of Moldova. They operate between 07:00 and 21:00 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
By Saturday, May 17, at 19:00, over 70,000 people had voted at the polling stations opened in our country for the Romanian presidential election, according to real-time data provided by the Permanent Electoral Authority.
For comparison, in the first round of the presidential elections in Romania, about 91,000 Moldovans with Romanian citizenship voted over three days.
