New protest held in front of Moldovan parliament
Chisinau, 3 December /MOLDPRES/- Several thousand people gathered today in front of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova to protest against certain legislative initiatives submitted by the Socialist Party. At the same time, Prime Minister Ion Chicu made public a message in which he asked the people who come to the protest to wear masks and not to endanger people's health.
Citizens came to protest at the urging of President-elect Maia Sandu yesterday, who called on the people to protest against the legislative initiative of the Socialist MPs proposing the transfer of the Intelligence and Security Service from the presidency to the Parliament, as well as of other initiatives which he described as an "attempt to usurp power in the state".
"I am sorry for this situation. The parliamentarians do not vote laws that will make the people's life easier, but which are against them ", Sandu said.
Chicu made public a message, in which, in particular, he mentions: “I recommend to the parliamentarians to focus now on the examination of the budgetary-fiscal projects. I ask both presidents to show maximum responsibility towards the people and to give up actions that endanger the life and health of the people ", wrote Ion Chicu.
