Moldovan Foreign Affairs Ministry condemns incident near Colonita settlement
The Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) strongly condemns the incident that occurred near the central Moldova village of Colonita, where, following an explosion, components resembling the of an unmanned drone equipped with a turbojet propulsion system were discovered.
According to the MAE, the incident represents another consequence of the Russian Federation’s war of aggression against Ukraine, whose effects, the institution says, may affect the security of Moldova and its citizens.
“The effects of Russian attacks on Ukraine do not stop at its borders,” the Foreign Affairs Ministry said.
The institution considers any unauthorized entry into the airspace of Moldova unacceptable and a serious violation of the country’s sovereignty.
The Foreign Affairs Ministry reiterates its condemnation of the Russian Federation’s war of aggression against Ukraine and calls for an end to actions that, according to the institution, endanger human lives and the security of states in the region.
On September 18, the Police were notified after more residents reported via the 112 emergency service that they had heard a loud explosion in the southwestern area of the village of Colonita, in the direction of Tohatin.
