Art Comes to Life – immersive exhibition hosted by Moldova's parliament

Chisinau, September 19, 2026 – The parliament of Moldova is hosting an immersive art exhibition titled, Art Comes to Life, on September 14-30, as part of the European Heritage Days and the schedule of activities dedicated to parliamentary openness.

The exhibition brings together reproductions of works by ten prominent artists of Moldova’s national art: Vladimir Ocușco, Dimitrie Sevastianov, Auguste Baillayre, Eugenia Maleșevschi, Ada Zevin, Igor Vieru, Valentina Rusu-Ciobanu, Mihail Grecu, Aurel David, and Mihai Petric. Through their works, these artists contributed to the development of fine arts in Moldova and to the formation of the national cultural heritage.

A distinctive feature of the exhibition is the use of augmented reality, which allows the public to discover the works of art in an interactive way. The 2D and 3D animations created by artist Oxana Capatina complement the works with moving images, voice and sound effects, providing a contemporary perspective on the artistic heritage.

Reproductions of eight of the ten works animated as part of the project are on display at the parliament. The original works can be viewed at the National Art Museum of Moldova, as part of the National Art exhibition, where visitors can also explore them with the help of augmented reality technology.

To access the interactive content, visitors can download the Artivive application free of charge from the App Store or Google Play. After setting the application, the phone’s camera should be pointed at the works marked with the Artivive icon, and the associated digital content will be displayed on the device’s screen.

The exhibition is also presented at the parliament, in order to mark the 85th anniversary of the founding of the National Art Museum of Moldova.

The Art Comes to Life project is an initiative of the National Art Museum of Moldova, carried out within the Museums of the Future programme. The initiative aims to promote cultural heritage through the use of new technologies and to develop innovative ways for the public to interact with art.

The exhibition can be visited until September 30 in the ground-floor foyer of Moldova’s parliament.
