Over 720 mayors confirm presence at Forum of Mayors due in Moldova on 9 December
Chisinau, 6 December /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 725,000 mayors have already confirmed their presence at the Forum of Mayors. The event is to be held on 9 December, under the aegis of President Maia Sandu. The government’s spokesman, Daniel Voda, unveiled information to this effect today.
„All mayors, without exceptions, were invited to this forum. The mayors are urged to come, no matter their political affiliation. The forum will be organized for all mayors from Moldova, who are interested in turning to good account the opportunities related to the European integration process,’’ Daniel Voda said.
According to Voda, 725 mayors have already confirmed their participation in the forum out of the total number of 895 mayors elected or reelected in Moldova. ‘Thus, most mayors have already accepted the invitation to the event,’’ the government’s spokesperson stressed.
Daniel Voda also said that the Forum included also two sessions of discussions with representatives of the government, parliament, civil society and other actors interested and would give opportunity to speak about the future of the settlements from Moldova.
On 9 December, an event will be organized for all mayors elected, who are interested in turning to good account the opportunities dealing with the European integration. The forum is organized under the aegis of Moldova’s President Maia Sandu. In the beginning of the today’s cabinet meeting, PM Dorin Recean urged all mayors, ‘’no matter the political colour,’’ to take part in the event.
