
Parliament of twelfth Legislature to be convened on 22 October
President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu signed on Friday, October 17, the Decree regarding the convening of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova for the Twelfth Legislature.
According to the document, the first meeting of the new Legislative will take place on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM. During this meeting, the deputies are set to elect the leadership and working bodies of the Parliament and initiate the procedures for the investment of a new Government.
The convening of the new Parliament marks the official debut of the Twelfth Legislature, following the parliamentary elections on September 28, 2025.
According to constitutional procedures, after the official establishment of the Legislature, consultations will follow for the nomination of a candidate for the position of Prime Minister and the formation of the new Cabinet of Ministers.
Following the election on September 28, six political entities surpassed the electoral threshold and will enter Parliament: the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) – 55 seats; the Patriotic Bloc – 26 seats; the Alternative Bloc – eight seats; Our Party – six seats; Democracy at Home Party – six seats.
