Moldova and Romania need each other in a Europe where security, stability and development can no longer be viewed separately. A strong, democratic and European Moldova means a more stable region and a more united Europe. Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today made statements to this effect, following a meeting with Romania’s President, Nicusor Dan, at the Cotroceni Palace.
The speaker emphasized that Moldova and Romania are linked by a special relationship, as well as by a strong partnership built on trust, mutual respect and common goals.
“In Bucharest, I had a meeting with President of Romania Nicusor Dan. We discussed regional security, infrastructure projects that connect the two banks of the Prut River, economic cooperation and Romania’s consistent and unconditional support for the European path of Moldova,” said Igor Grosu.
Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu is taking part in the Security Forum for the Black Sea and Balkans region, held in Bucharest on May 12-13, this year. During the event, the speaker will be a keynote speaker at two discussion panels, where he will address the progress and challenges of Moldova’s accession process to the European Union.
Also, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today had a meeting with the President of the Senate of Romania Mircea Abrudean. The officials discussed projects that bring the two banks of the Prut River closer together, with an emphasis on the major objective of Moldova: European integration.
