Head of state Maia Sandu, during her visit to the United Kingdom met with several citizens of our country settled in the city of Northampton, where a large and active community of Moldovans resides.
The President noted that our country's citizens abroad are those who, through work and dignity, bring Moldova with them to Europe.
“I was delighted to see our Moldovans in Northampton again and thank them for everything they do. Through work and dignity, they bring Moldova with them to Europe,” the head of state emphasized.
Maia Sandu said she discussed with our country's citizens about the changes that have been made in the Republic of Moldova in recent years.
“We gathered to talk about Moldova, the changes at home and how we can keep in touch, even from afar,” said the head of state.
Additionally, the official announced that starting 1 August our country's citizens residing in the United Kingdom will be able to exchange their driving licenses without taking additional exams.
“I came with good news: we have agreed with the British government that starting 1 August Moldovans residing in the first five years in the United Kingdom will be able to exchange their driving licenses without exams,” announced Maia Sandu.
Maia Sandu paid a working visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on 23-24 July. The head of state had an audience with His Majesty King Charles III and held discussions with high-level British officials.
