Political parties of Moldova to submit financial management reports for 2024 year

The political parties are asked to submit their financial management reports for the year 2024 by March 31.

According to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), the reporting is to be made electronically, through the Financial Control system. Thus, the document can be completed in the Financial Control system, only if the report for the first half of 2024 and the one for the second semester of 2024 have been entered into the system.

The report is to be signed by the treasurer and the leader of the political party, and if the leader holds an interim position, the information must be confirmed by the Public Services Agency. Otherwise, the submitted reports will not be accepted.

‘’If the data in the financial management report of the political party is incomplete or unclear, CEC has right to ask for additional information and the party is obliged to provide it within the indicated term or in 14 working days starting from the date of request,’’ CEC said.

The financial management report is submitted together with all monthly bank statements regarding the account turnover related to the reporting period. Copies of the primary documents related to the income got and expenses incurred are presented electronically, only upon the Commission's request.

CEC has warned that failure to submit the financial management report in the term and format established by law, including the submission of incomplete data, represents a violation of legal provisions and is subject to contraventional liability. Likewise, according to the law, the activity of the political party may be limited, if it has not submitted the financial management report in the term and format established by CEC.
