Prime Minister on Ukraine’s Independence Day: Moldova is and will remain reliable neighbor and steadfast partner of Ukraine

The Republic of Moldova is and will remain a reliable neighbor and a steadfast partner of Ukraine. We are bound by a sincere friendship, as well as a common goal: peace on continent, sovereignty and independence of our states and a good future for our citizens. The message was conveyed today by Prime Minister Vasile Tofan on Ukraine’s Independence Day.

The Prime Minister sent the Ukrainian people a message of deep respect and solidarity, noting that he lived and worked in Kyiv for more than ten years.

“Today, Ukraine celebrates 35 years of independence. On this occasion, I would like to send the Ukrainian people a message of deep respect and solidarity. I lived and worked in Kyiv for more than ten years. There I came to know closely the strength, generosity, and dignity of Ukrainians – through the entrepreneurs with whom I built, the students I taught, and many friends who today are defending their country,” said Vasile Tofan.

The Prime Minister stressed that through the extraordinary courage they show every day, Ukrainians are defending their sovereignty and territory, the peace of the entire region, and Europe’s democratic values.

“Independence is the right of a nation to decide its own future, in peace and freedom. For more than four years now, Russia has been trying to deprive Ukraine of this right through a brutal war of aggression. Through the extraordinary courage they show every day, Ukrainians are defending their sovereignty and territory, the peace of the entire region, and Europe’s democratic values,” he emphasized.

The official expressed support for Ukraine.

“We and the entire free world will continue to support Ukraine. Russia started this war, and Russia must end it and answer for the crimes and destruction it causes every day. The Republic of Moldova is and will remain a reliable neighbor and a steadfast partner of Ukraine. We are bound by a sincere friendship, as well as a common goal: peace on the continent, the sovereignty and independence of our states, and a good future for our citizens. Happy Independence Day, Ukraine! З Днем Незалежності, Україно! Многая літа!” concluded Vasile Tofan.

Today, August 24, Ukraine marks the 35th anniversary of the proclamation of independence.
