
Admission to universities starts in Moldova: institutions propose over 8,700 budgetary places to candidates
Chisinau, 24 July /MOLDPRES/ - The universities from Moldova have started the admission for the 2023-2024 academic year. The institutions propose to candidates 8,704 places with financing from the state budget, for the degree, master, residency education. Three new specialties are suggested this year. It is about the Science of data, Digital technologies in manufacturing, Agro-business and rural development.
At the basic session of the 2023 admission, the files will be submitted during 24-31 July and the intermediate results are to be announced on 1 August. Candidates will be able to submit the original acts on 2-4 August, according to a schedule established by each institution separately. The final results of the admission will be announced on 7 August.
Each fourth place out of all places with budgetary financing for the degree and master education will be provided for the Education sciences sector (2,079 places); another 1,654 places will be distributed for candidates due to choose to study in Engineering and engineering activities, Technologies of manufacturing and Architecture and constructions. A number of 904 places will be distributed for the sector of Information and communication technologies, 937 – for Health (residency); 276 places with budgetary financing are to be distributed to the sectors of Agricultural sciences, Veterinary medicine and Sciences of the environment. At the same time, another 2,864 places with budgetary financing will be distributed to candidates for education in other specialties. At the same time, under bilateral contracts concluded with various countries, 106 places with budgetary financing are provided for the admission of foreigners to education, with priority given to citizens of Ukraine.
Also, young people can apply to the professions of the future, for which the number of budgetary places was increased: Multimedia production, design of games and cartoon, as well as for the Information and communication technologies.
To be eligible for the admission contest, candidates should hold a Baccalaureate diploma, a diploma of vocational education or an equivalent document of education, accepted by the competent structure, with the recognition and equalizing of the education acts and qualifications.
During this admission session too, candidates have right to register for the contest concomitantly at one or more higher education institutions, in diverse fields of professional training. They can choose, in the order priorities, a maximal number of syllabi, established by the education institution’s Senate, at each of the institutions selected; but they can be admitted to one syllabus at a single higher education institution out of which they opted for, through submitting the original education documents.
If vacant places remain, higher education institutions will organize, for both cycles, additional admission sessions, in identical conditions to those of the basic session, before the starting of the academic year.
