New names in PAS team

The Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) is strengthening its team in anticipation of the parliamentary elections on September 28, deemed crucial for the future of the Republic of Moldova. The leader of the party, Igor Grosu, presented today several personalities who have joined the governing team, emphasizing that the stakes of the election are historic: continuing the country's European path.

“This fall we are facing crucial elections. I’ve said it before but this time it’s true. On September 28, we will decide the future fate of the Republic of Moldova. This is not about PAS, but about the future of the country and all Moldovans. Moldova has real reasons to become a developed country, where the law is paramount and cannot be threatened or blackmailed by anyone. We are closer than ever to the dream of our parents and grandparents: to leave a good legacy for our children. And for this, we must win these elections. And we will do it alongside people who want what's best for this country. Now is the time to close ranks and unite,” said Igor Grosu during a press conference.

Among the new members of the PAS team are: Nicolae Botgros, conductor of Lăutarii Orchestra; Maria Acbaș, an entrepreneur from Comrat; Constantin Cheianu, writer and journalist; and Marcel Spătari, former Minister of Labor and Social Protection.

Master Nicolae Botgros stated that his decision to support PAS comes from the desire to contribute to the development of Moldova, inspired by the values and lifestyle of European states: “Step by step we have shown what we can do. Now it's time to pitch in, those of us who are with our hearts here.”

Entrepreneur Maria Acbaș emphasized the necessity of dialogue between the government and all ethnic communities: “We should not divide society into Romanians, Gagauzians, Russians. We all want development and peace. Gagauzians support European integration.”

Writer Constantin Cheianu highlighted the major political risks this fall: “We may face graver issues than the billion-dollar theft – we could face a theft of the country.”

Former Minister Marcel Spătari highlighted the progress made and the importance of continuing reforms: “Building a state governed by the rule of law is a long-term project. I agreed to rejoin the team to contribute to completing the transformations begun.”

Marcel Spătari, the former Minister of Labor and Social Protection, emphasized that building a state governed by the rule of law is a long-term project, and now maintaining European integration is essential: “There are important advances in many areas and we must not stop the processes we’ve begun, which should be completed. That is precisely why I accepted PAS’s proposal to be part of the team for the next mandate and to be on the electoral list.”

Igor Grosu thanked the new colleagues for their trust and noted that the PAS list remains open for other personalities who share the ideal of a European Moldova.

The current legislature, elected on July 11, 2021, is concluding its mandate. On September 28, citizens will be called to the polls to choose a new composition of Parliament, in a complex political and geopolitical context.
