Another four candidates for positions in Superior Council of Prosecutors pass evaluation in Moldova
Chisinau, 30 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Pre-Vetting Commission today informed that it had finished the evaluation as to prosecutors Mariana Cherpec, Iuri Lealin, Olesea Vîrlan and Elena Roșior, who are candidates for office of member of the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP). According to the Commission, those four prosecutors meet the integrity criteria and pass the evaluation.
The Pre-Vetting Commission said that those four prosecutors are to notify the Commission whether they oppose or not the publication in 48 hours after the taking of the concerned decision, under the Law No 26/2022. The decisions can be appealed at the Supreme Court of Justice in a period of 5 days after the date of reception, according to the provisions of the same law.
A prosecutor at the Chisinau municipality’s Prosecutor’s Office, Mariana Cherpec, an a prosecutor at the Prosecutor General’s Office (PG), Iuri Lealin, were heard at the Pre-Vetting Commission for an office of member in the main body of prosecutors’ self-management. The candidates, Olesea Vîrlan, who is acting deputy chief prosecutor at the Ialoveni district’s Prosecutor’s Office, and acting deputy chief prosecutor at the Anenii Noi district’s Prosecutor’s Office, Elena Roșior, were heard in the second round of public interviews. The hearings were focused on subjects of financial integrity and ethics.
According to the quoted source, six out of those 18 candidates registered for the contest on the holding of the CSP member have passed the evaluation so far and four are expecting the verdict of the Pre-Vetting Commission.
