Assistance from Qatar brought to Moldova through Qatar Fund for Development, in cooperation with Hamad Medical Corporation
Chisinau, 8 June /MOLDPRES/ - The transport of 3.5 tons of medical assistance from the State of Qatar has arrived in Chisinau through the Qatar Fund for Development, in cooperation with Hamad Medical Corporation.
The Embassy of Qatar issued a press release, reading that the transport of 3.5 tons of medical assistance from the State of Qatar was brought to Chisinau through the Qatar Fund for Development, in cooperation with Hamad Medical Corporation and is meant to support the health sector of Moldova for limiting the spread of the Covid-219 virus.
The consignment of medical assistance was delivered by charge d’affaires at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Chisinau, Hamad bin Rashid Al-Athba, in the presence of a state secretary at the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry, Dumitru Socolan, state secretary at the Health Ministry, Igor Curov, and Moldova’s Ambassador in Doha Victor Tvircun.
In his speech, Hamad bin Rashid Al-Athba said the medical assistance provided by Qatar to the Moldovan people fit the backing of efforts made by Moldova to counteract the Covid-19 pandemic and confirmed the deepness of the relations between the two friendly countries.
For his part, Dumitru Socolan thanked Emir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, Minister of Health Dr. Hanan al Kuwari and diplomat Hamad bin Rashid Al-Athba for the medical assistance provided since the beginning of the pandemic so far. Qatar is the only Arab state to donate medical equipment for the second time, which is an important assistance for Moldova, to cope with the Covid-19 crisis and its effects.
