Civil society invited to consultations with Parliament on decision-making process
Civil society is invited to consultations with Parliament on the decision-making process. A conference on this topic will take place on May 22 at the Palace of the Republic. The announcement was made by MP Ana Calinici at the beginning of today’s plenary session.
According to her, the meeting will bring together representatives of non-governmental organizations, MPs and experts to discuss the involvement of civil society in the decision-making process, including in the context of European integration and the promotion of open government.
“On May 22, at the Palace of the Republic, the annual conference on civil society participation in the decision-making process and the cooperation between Parliament and civil society will take place. It is an important event at which we will talk with representatives of civil society about their involvement in the decision-making process in general, but also in the process of European integration,” Calinici said.
She noted that the conference will also address the new open government plan, which Parliament is joining for the first time, as well as the legal framework governing civil society activity and its impact at local and social level.
“Following these thematic discussions, we will draw conclusions that will form the basis for improving cooperation between Parliament and civil society in the future,” the MP noted.
The organizers invite public associations from across the country, as well as MPs, to participate in the event in order to contribute to a direct dialogue on strengthening institutional cooperation.
