Drivers urged to be prudent over rains, sleet in Moldova
Chisinau, 18 November /MOLDPRES/ - Rains and sleet are registered on roads of Moldova. In the context, policemen ask for maximal prudence in traffic.
Law-enforcers recommend that drivers move prudently and permanently adapt the speed to the road conditions.
At the same time, policemen recommend that pedestrians enhance attention, in order to avoid, as far as possible, the movement on the roadway, especially in conditions of low visibility and after it is getting dark outdoors. Also, they have to solidly make sure before crossing roads.
Policemen are in traffic to ease the movement. In emergency situations, citizens are urged to call the 112 phone number.
Meteorologists issued a Yellow Code of heavy rains and wind gustings valid starting from 17 November, 20:00, till 19 November, 12:00. Thus, heavy rains are expected (15-32 litres/square metre) predominantly in the southern half of Moldova, which are to turn into sleet in the northern region. The north-eastern wind will have gustings to 15-20 metres/second in most regions, with 21-24 metres/second in places.
