HEART OF MOLDOVA Party not to be able to participate in new local elections
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today ruled to exclude the Republican Party HEART OF MOLDOVA from the list of political entities registered for the new local elections scheduled for November 16.
The decision was taken, after the Justice Ministry had informed the CEC about filing of a lawsuit against the party and requested the suspension of its activities. The ministry's request was admitted by the Centru Court of Appeal and later upheld by the Supreme Court of Justice.
According to the legislation on political parties, during the suspension of their activities, the targeted entities cannot participate in elections or referendums, cannot organize gatherings or rallies, produce political advertising materials or use financial resources, except for mandatory legal payments.
New local elections will be held on November 16, 2025, in six localities in the country: the village of Ustia (Glodeni district), the commune of Natalievca (Falesti district), the commune of Cremenciug (Soroca district), the village of Bascalia (Basarabeasca district), the commune of Calinesti (Falesti district), and the town of Leova.
