Moldovan parliament convenes at last meeting of 2025 year
The MPs are today convene at the last plenary meeting of the 2025 autumn session. The people's representatives are expected to return to the plenary hall in February.
At the meeting, the lawmakers will examine, in the second reading, the state budget law drafts, the state social insurance budget law, and the mandatory health insurance funds law for the year 2026.
The agenda also includes more legislative drafts aimed at aligning national legislation with the European Union’s one. They regard public procurement, volunteer activity, mediation and the status of the mediator, as well as the prevention and combating of sexual exploitation and abuse of children.
Also, in the second reading, the deputies will discuss legislative initiatives on the unified salary system in the public sector, optimization of procedures for issuing permits, simplification of business activities, modification of the Urban and Construction Code, enhancing transparency in the judicial and prosecutorial system, as well as granting customs facilities for citizens returning to live in Moldova.
At the same meeting, the MPs are expected to examine, in the first reading, drafts concerning the import of certain means of transport, amendment of the Youth Law and ratification of the Legal Cooperation Agreement in Civil and Commercial Matters between Moldova and the State of Israel.
According to the parliament's Rules of Procedure, the autumn session takes place as of September till December, while the spring session is held starting from February till July.
