Moldovan PM enacts additional measures for safe holidays

Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu today made a call urging maximum mobilization and vigilance, so that all citizens can spend the holidays safely.

The PM thanked the road workers and police officers for their work in the context of the unfavorable weather conditions of late.

"We have entered the winter period, in the true sense of the word. Snow and ice have created unfavorable weather conditions and caused difficulties and accidents. I thank the road workers who did an extraordinary job, ensuring traffic on all routes, and we managed to avoid serious accidents. I also thank my colleagues from the police for their patrol actions, for all their efforts, for being with the citizens and providing assistance in emergency situations," said the prime minister.

The official also said that, during the holidays, special attention must be paid to children. Meanwhile, adults are urged to be cautious with heating sources, in order to prevent tragic incidents.

"During these days, we must give special attention to children, who need more supervision. I alert parents to try to avoid dangerous places, especially ponds, which have not completely frozen over. Let's be vigilant. We have also been cautioned about cases of using stoves and different heating sources, which have resulted in high CO2 content, potentially leading to tragic cases," warned Alexandru Munteanu.

The PM urged citizens to be cautious to spend the holidays safely.

"During these holiday days, when we are a bit more relaxed, let's not forget that risks still exist, especially for vulnerable groups. Let's be prudent and continue the effort, in order to enjoy the holidays nicely, without accidents," concluded Alexandru Munteanu.
