PHOTO // MOLDPRES, 36th anniversary of establishment: successful self-management, European partnerships, record volume of Official Journal's issues in EU accession process

The MOLDPRES State Information Agency today marks the 36th anniversary years of its foundation. The institution’s director, Vitalie Hadei, emphasized that this anniversary represented a confirmation of professional maturity and a source of pride for an institution that had once again become, in recent years, a primary source of information of Moldova, both through the news and interviews it disseminates daily and through each issue of Official Journal.

“Beyond the historical significance of this day, the event coincides with a symbolic review of a period of institutional renaissance, during which the agency has visibly changed its face and gained a new dynamic. Over the past two years, the MOLDPRES Information and Multimedia Office has undergone an extensive reset process, becoming a model of modern and impactful journalism. The team’s effort has significantly increased the visibility of our products, consolidating the institution’s status as one of the most frequently cited sources of information in Moldova. At the same time, in an era of disinformation, we remain a benchmark media institution and a pillar of credible journalism,” the director of the Agency said in his message.

MOLDPRES has expanded its presence on the European and regional media market, by developing a solid network of strategic partnerships. The agency has renewed its bilateral agreements with AGERPRES (Romania) and BTA (Bulgaria), signed a new cooperation agreement with ARMENPRESS (Armenia), and continues its collaboration with the prestigious Italian agency Adnkronos.

“This partnership places the news flow from Moldova directly into the information circuit of Western Europe,” Hadei underlined.

The Agency’s director also highlighted the importance of the work carried out by the team responsible for editing and publishing the Official Journal, during a period marked by the acceleration of the process of harmonizing national legislation with the norms of the European Union.

“We express our deep gratitude to the subscribers and beneficiaries of the Official Journal’s editions of Moldova. Their constant trust validates the efforts of a dedicated team working at an intense pace, imposed by the historic process of harmonizing national legislation with the acquis of the European Union. The massive volume of legal acts has led to a substantial increase in the number of issues published. Every printed or digitized page reflects the full responsibility of our specialists, who ensure the accuracy and prompt publication of all the state’s official acts,” said Vitalie Hadei.

At the same time, the director emphasized the performance of the MOLDPRES Agency, a public institution operating on a self-management basis.

“Our ability to self-finance and maintain full economic stability on a period of profound structural transformations is indisputable proof of effective management and rigorous strategic planning. We manage to deliver media products at high standards and handle a record volume of official publications exclusively from our own resources, proving managerial efficiency and respect for citizens,” the director’s message also reads.

Vitalie Hadei highlighted the professionalism of the employees, wishing them: “Happy Anniversary!”

“I want to thank all employees for their loyalty, professionalism and involvement in the continuous development of our agency. Happy anniversary, MOLDPRES!”

The State Information Agency MOLDPRES was founded on 20 June 1990, under a decision of the Supreme Soviet of the Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic, following the reorganization and liquidation of the Moldovan Information Agency ATEM. The new institution was to become the first news agency built on democratic principles, pluralism of opinion and freedom of expression. MOLDPRES played an important role in informing public opinion about the process of national revival and the events that culminated in the proclamation of the Independence of the Republic of Moldova on August 27, 1991.

Over its 36 years of activity, the MOLDPRES State Information Agency has been an eyewitness to major events that have marked the history of Moldova. These moments were captured by the agency’s photojournalists in images which, over time, have become true archival documents and valuable testimonies of the evolution of the state Republic of Moldova.
