Several drone fragments were discovered today in the locality of Tudora, Ștefan Vodă district, approximately 500 meters from the border line. It was found by citizens.
Thus, at 09:55, the service signal Explosive-Alpha was activated at the “Tudora-1” Border Police Sector, following information received from the population regarding the discovery of the suspicious object.
“At the scene, drone fragments were found. Explosive Ordnance Disposal teams are working to assess and neutralize the aircraft. The Border Police advises citizens not to approach suspicious objects and to immediately inform the authorities,” the Border Police stated.
The border authority announced this morning that an unknown aircraft, similar to a Shahed-type drone, was observed around 01:30 in the area of responsibility of the Olănești Border Police Sector, about 200 meters from the state border, on the Iaski (Ukraine) – Crocmaz (Republic of Moldova) axis. The object was detected at an altitude of up to 150 meters, flying over the airspace of our country, after which it continued its movement in the direction of the locality of Căplani. According to data from the Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the national airspace has been crossed without authorization more than 40 times.
