The drone found today in Ștefan Vodă district is active and contains an explosive device. Intervention teams will carry out a controlled detonation on site.
According to the General Police Inspectorate (GPI), all citizens have been evacuated from the area in order to avoid danger.
"At present, the teams are assessing the risk and taking the necessary actions to establish all the circumstances and to neutralize the warhead of the aircraft. Given the imminent danger, specialists from the Police Technical-Explosive Unit will carry out a controlled explosion on site. We ask citizens to remain calm and comply with all police requests," the GPI announced.
The actions are being carried out by the Police in cooperation with engineers from the National Army, employees of the Prosecutor’s Office, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, the General Inspectorate of the Border Police and the emergency service.
Several fragments of the drone were discovered this morning in the locality of Tudora, Ștefan Vodă district, approximately 500 meters from the border line. It was found by citizens. If people notice suspicious objects, they must immediately inform the authorities and keep their distance from them.
