Firefighters have contained the large-scale fire that broke out today morning at a food warehouse of the Moldovan capital. After approximately five hours of battling the flames, the high-level emergency response has been reduced.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), firefighters and rescuers managed to protect about 10,000 square meters of the total 15,000-square-meter warehouse from flames.
Presently, response teams continue operations, in order to fully extinguish the fire and minimize risks. Ten fire trucks are involved in the mission. No casualties have been reported.
Earlier this morning, a large-scale fire broke out in a food warehouse located on Mihai Viteazul Street. The call to the 112 Service was received at 05:03. The IGSU Experimental Fire Investigation Laboratory worked on-site to determine the cause and all circumstances of the fire.
