Two judges pass external evaluation in Moldova

The Judges’ Evaluation Commission has submitted evaluation reports to the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) regarding the candidates for the position of judge at the Supreme Court of Justice, Elena Croitor and Oxana Parfeni, proposing in both cases that the evaluation be considered successfully passed.

The two judges have recently participated in public hearings conducted by the Commission, in accordance with the applicable legal framework. After analyzing the information collected and verified, the Commission members concluded that there were no doubts regarding the financial or ethical integrity of the candidates.

The evaluation reports have been sent to the Superior Council of Magistracy, the institution that will examine the conclusions and decide whether to accept or reject them.

The Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ) is the highest judicial authority of Moldova and is in charge of ensuring the uniform application of legislation by all courts of the country. Following the justice reform and the legislative amendments adopted in 2023, the CSJ’s composition was revised and reduced to 20 judges.
