The China International Press Communication Center (CIPCC) today officially launched its 2026 edition, a major event that brings together in Beijing over one hundred journalists from 90 countries around the world. The extensive professional and cultural exchange programme also includes the special envoy of the State Information Agency MOLDPRES, reflecting Moldova’s interest in strengthening international media cooperation.

Journalists: Ambassadors who open up the world

During the opening ceremony, the organizers highlighted the fundamental role played by the media plays in the architecture of modern relations between states. They emphasized that in an increasingly interconnected world, accurate and direct communication is essential for mutual understanding.

“Journalists are the ones who open up the world and build communication bridges where geographical distances seem insurmountable. Through your work, you not only transmit information, but also strengthen relations between states and peoples, offering an authentic perspective on global development,” representatives of CIPCC stated at the launch event.

An agenda focused on innovation and high-quality development

This year’s edition takes place under the banner of “high-quality development,” a central concept in China’s new political context, marked by the adoption of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030). The programme includes six regional centers, offering journalists a specialized framework for documentation.

During the three-month fellowship, participants will explore a diverse agenda:

Technology and Innovation: Visits to artificial intelligence and robotics centers, and demonstrations with state-of-the-art drones.

Media Experience: Practical internships within major Chinese media institutions, such as CGTN, Xinhua, and People’s Daily.

Culture and History: Discovering emblematic landmarks, such as the Great Wall of China and the Forbidden City, along with traditional culture workshops.

MOLDPRES, the voice of Moldova in Beijing

The presence of the MOLDPRES special envoy at this international programme  provides Moldova a direct window into China’s economic and technological transformations. Participants are encouraged to report their experiences objectively, thus facilitating constructive dialogue between audiences in their home countries and realities in Asia.

The organizers expressed confidence that this exchange of experience would contribute to a better-informed global press and to closer cooperation among journalists from diverse regions, from Central and Eastern Europe to Latin America and Africa.
