Moldovan, Hungarian PMs have phone conversation

Prime Minister Vasile Tofan has had phone conversation with PM of Hungary Péter Magyar. Moldova’s progress in the European Union accession process, the development of bilateral relation, and the strengthening of political dialogue between the two countries were the main topics discussed.

A central topic concerned Moldova’s European path. Prime Minister Vasile Tofan emphasized the government’s determination to continue reforms and advance at a sustained pace in the accession negotiations, based on the progress and results achieved by the country. In the context, the Moldovan PM highlighted the importance of Hungary’s support for continuing the European Union enlargement process and for advancing Moldova toward the next stages of the accession negotiations, including the opening of new clusters on the coming period.

The two prime ministers also discussed strengthening the Moldovan-Hungarian partnership, with an emphasis on developing economic relations. The sides expressed interest in expanding trade, attracting investment and leveraging new opportunities for cooperation between companies from the two countries.

Prime Ministers Vasile Tofan and Péter Magyar agreed to maintain close dialogue and continue developing cooperation between Moldova and Hungary, including in support of the country’s strategic objective of joining the European Union.
