Yellow Code for atmospheric instability in Moldova: showers with thunderstorms, hail expected

Meteorologists today issued a Yellow Code for atmospheric instability, valid across Moldova between 14:00 and 23:00.

According to the Meteorology and Environmental Monitoring Authority, on this period, short-term showers with thunderstorms are expected, with heavy downpours (15–25 l/m²) with hail in places.

Meteorologists today also issued a Yellow Code for strong wind, valid across the entire country between 14:00 and 23:00. During this period, widespread intensification of the north‑western wind is expected, with gusts of up to 17–22 m/s.

Under these conditions, the authorities recommend that the population avoid travelling during storms, seek shelter in safe places and not remain under trees or near power lines. At the same time, drivers are urged to drive with caution and take into account possible water accumulation on the roadway.
