PHOTO // Several students and resident doctors from USMF “Nicolae Testemițanu” took part in academic mobility program in China

Several students and resident doctors from Nicolae Testemițanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) participated in an academic mobility program at the University of Medicine in Gansu Province, Lanzhou city, People’s Republic of China.

The internship was carried out with the purpose of attending a training course in the practice of traditional Chinese medicine, in order to strengthen knowledge in the field of TCM and to observe how it is integrated into contemporary medical practice. The training included visits to medical and university institutions, attendance at theoretical courses, seminars, and practical demonstrations.

The participants were third-year students from the Bachelor’s program in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation: Alexandru Budeci, Natalia Lujan, Adelina Roșca, Alexandrina Balanuța, and Gabriela Guja, as well as first- to third-year resident doctors specializing in Medical Rehabilitation, Physical Medicine and Manual Therapy: Victoria Dănilă, Nicoleta Lachi, Olga Repede, Daniela Mucerschii, Tatiana Minceva, Neli Armaș, Albert Pruteanu, Nicolae Gherdan, and Alina Spătaru.

The young people were accompanied by Anastasia Rotăreanu, university assistant at the Department of Medical Rehabilitation, Physical Medicine and Manual Therapy. She specified that the educational exchange program offered the opportunity to compare different therapeutic approaches and models of organizing medical services, contributing to professional and academic development.

“Mobility represented a valuable experience from a professional, academic and cultural point of view, contributing to the development of competences and the expansion of international collaborations,” noted Anastasia Rotăreanu.

During the visit, the young participants became familiar with diagnostic and treatment methods specific to traditional Chinese medicine, attended acupuncture, moxibustion, phytotherapy procedures and other methods used in medical rehabilitation and pain management. They also enhanced their professional skills and took part in educational and healthcare activities, thus contributing to the strengthening of international academic cooperation.
