Vasile Tofan on government team: You will also see new faces. Discussions with several ministers will follow, and decisions will then be made
The government team to be proposed by the designated candidate for the position of prime minister, Vasile Tofan, will also include new people. He announced that next week, he will hold discussions with several ministers, after which decisions will be made regarding the composition of the future Government. The statements were made today during a press briefing.
Vasile Tofan emphasized that he intends to bring new people into the extended composition of the government team.
“Yes, I intend to bring in new people into the government, in a broad sense. I believe you will also see new faces in the government team. We will have consultations next week. I know some ministers, others I do not yet know. Therefore, we will make the decisions together,” he remarked.
The candidate for the position of prime minister mentioned that, in his activity, he is willing to accept criticism, but not disinformation.
“We will focus on what we can do better, not on criticizing the work of others. It is very easy to criticize, but at the same time we must understand how difficult this role is for anyone. I am sure that I will also be heavily criticized. I am open to criticism; I even encourage it. I hope it will also be constructive. I will always be open to discussing it. At the same time, we must make a distinction between criticism and falsehoods, between criticism and attacks. Therefore, I ask the press to be incisive and critical, and I will always be open to questions. But, at the same time, it is very important to distinguish criticism and journalistic investigations from blatant falsehoods,” added Vasile Tofan.
President Maia Sandu today nominated Vasile Tofan as candidate for the position of prime minister of the Republic of Moldova. According to the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova, the designated candidate must, within 15 days, request a vote of confidence from Parliament for the Government’s program of activity and for its composition.
