20 million lei invested in school modernization: better conditions for 11,000 students

A total of 15 educational institutions will be modernized and transformed into model schools, with funding of nearly 20 million dollars provided by the European Union, Norway and Poland through UNDP Moldova.

The works will allow approximately 11,000 students to benefit from better and more equitable conditions for their educational progress and personal development. The entire process is being carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Research to ensure that the interventions are aligned with national standards and with the development vision of the education system.

A key element of these investments is the direct involvement of beneficiaries – students and teachers. Through consultations and participatory processes, educational spaces are designed to respond to real classroom needs. Modular furniture, digital technologies and flexible classroom layouts enable modern teaching methods focused on developing critical thinking and practical skills.

The investments also target the development of science education by creating modern laboratories and mathematics classrooms equipped with high-performance equipment. These spaces give students the opportunity to experiment and concretely understand theoretical concepts, contributing to deeper and more relevant learning.

The network of model schools includes 90 general education institutions across the country. The initiative was launched by the Ministry of Education and Research to develop modern schools capable of providing students with a safe, accessible learning environment that is adapted to current requirements.
