Policemen to stop, ban movement of vehicles with summer tyres in Moldova
Chisinau, 5 April /MOLDPRES/ - The employees of the General Police Inspectorate (IGP) will stop and ban the movement of transport units with summer tyres, especially the high-tonnage transport means.
According to IGP, the measure is taken, in order to avoid tragedies on roads, as there is precipitation all over Moldova, especially in the northern regions, where the snowfall is intensifying.
At the same time, policemen asked the participants in the traffic not to set out, if the transport means are not endowed properly.
Meteorologists issued a Yellow Code of complicated weather conditions valid till 6 April. On this period, heavy precipitation (15-20 litres/square metre during 12 hours) in form of rain and sleet, which turns into snow, is forecast. The north-western wind will have gustings of 15-20 metres/second.
Also, a Yellow Code of frosts is forecast for 6-8 April. Thus, at night and in the morning, frosts of -1 - -3 Celsius degrees are expected in places in the northern part of Moldova.
