Prosecutors conduct searches at FC Dacia Chisinau in tax evasion file
Chisinau, 19 April /MOLDPRES/- Prosecutors raided today the decision makers and employees of the FC Dacia Chisinau football club in a file on tax evasion in particularly large proportions. The management of the club is suspected of damaging the state budget by over 10 million lei.
Spokeswoman of the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Causes Anisoara Botez made the statement. “After completing searches, we will provide details about the results of the operation,” she said.
According to prosecutors, in January 2014-February 2017, the football club decision makers made unofficial payments to the technical staff and the club’s players worth about 3 million euros.
In mid-March, FC Dacia Chisinau announced it is withdrawing from the Moldovan Championship. The club was founded in 1999 and the moment of glory was 2010-2011, when Dacia won the title of champion for the first time.
