The World Health Organization (WHO) will provide the Republic of Moldova with technical support and expertise in modernizing the medical system. Minister of Health Emil Ceban and the WHO Regional Director for Europe, Hans Henri P. Kluge, signed the biennial Cooperation Agreement for the period 2026–2027.

The agreement was signed during the official visit to the WHO Regional Office for Europe. It contributes to strengthening cooperation between the Ministry of Health and the WHO Regional Office for Europe in order to advance the reforms needed to modernize the health system.

The document defines the areas of cooperation for the next two years: primary healthcare, prevention and health digitalization, medical infrastructure and system reforms, access to medicines, human resources, mental health, emergency preparedness, and alignment with European Union standards.

WHO will also provide technical support and expertise in these areas.
