Position of director of Moldovan National Energy Regulatory Agency open to competition: applicants may submit files until March 23

The parliament has launched a competition, in order to select a candidate for the position of director of the Board of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE). The competition’s regulations today were approved by the commission for economy, budget and finance and application files may be submitted until March 23, 2026.

Candidates must meet the following requirements: hold Moldovan citizenship; have higher education in a technical, economic, financial or legal field; have at least 10 years of professional experience and at least three years in management positions in public institutions, international organizations, NGOs or enterprises regulated by ANRE. Knowledge of Romanian and English is mandatory.

The competition will take place in two stages: examination of application files and approval of admitted candidates, followed by closed-door interviews, in order to assess experience in regulated sectors, managerial skills and vision for the development of ANRE. After hearing the candidates, the commission will vote, and the candidate with the most votes will be proposed to parliament for appointment.

The ANRE Board is composed of five members, appointed by the parliament through an open competition.
