Moldova connects to European Union’s secure communication network - TESTA

Moldova will connect to the European Union’s secure communication network, meant for the exchange of information between public administration authorities from the EU member states and associated countries. This provision is included in a draft decision approved by the government today.

“We are continuing our integration, including technical integration, into existing EU networks. The main goal of the draft is to ensure our connection to the TESTA network, by establishing a regulatory framework to govern this process, through STISC, acting as the national connection point to the TESTA network,” said Deputy Prime Minister Eugeniu Osmochescu at the government meeting.

By connecting to TESTA, citizens of Moldova will benefit from more secure, more transparent digital public services that are closer to European standards. Connection to the European Union’s secure communication infrastructure will enable fast and protected data exchange between authorities, which will reduce bureaucracy and simplify people’s interaction with state institutions.

The TESTA network (Trans European Services for Telematics between Administrations) is a common European infrastructure meant for the secure exchange of data between public administration authorities of the European Union member states and associated countries. By its nature, TESTA operates on the basis of a secure access point in each participating state. Through this access point, entities can connect to various European Union information systems in specific areas, such as justice, home affairs, taxation, customs and public health.
