VIDEO // EU Ambassador to Moldova says people on Eastern holidays return to things that matter most: family, traditions

European Union Ambassador to Chisinau Iwona Piórko has visited a small family bakery in Moldova, on the eve of the Feast of the Resurrection of the Lord, where she learned how the traditional Easter sweet bread “pasca” and “cozonac” are prepared, letting herself be carried away by the story of Moldovan traditions.

Together with local bakers, the ambassador discovered the dedication and skill with which the delicacies that bring Moldovans all together around the holiday table are crafted.

Iwona Piórko said that, during the Easter holidays, people naturally return to the things that matter most: family and traditions.

“Therefore, on the eve of Easter, I went to a small family bakery, in order to learn how the traditional pasca (Easter bread) and cozonac (Easter cake) are prepared. Because this is perhaps the most beautiful thing about Easter: spending time with family and friends around the table and cherishing these moments. Happy Easter!”, said Iwona Piórko.

Orthodox Christians are celebrating Holy Easter today, considered the greatest feast of Christianity, which signifies the Resurrection of the Lord.
