VIDEO // Levski Trakia football team receives financial support from ARBOM, plans for modernized stadium
The Association for the Support of the Bulgarian Community from Moldova (ARBOM) will provide financial support to the Levski Trakia football team from Taraclia. The ARBOM president, Plamen Milanov, has made statements to this effect at a meeting with the club’s management and members.
According to Milanov, the sponsorship will amount to 120,000 lei annually, and the funds may be used by the team’s management, including to cover the requirements for licensing and participation in Moldovan championships.
“Considering the success of the Levski Trakia team from Taraclia, the Association for the Support of the Bulgarian Community of Moldova has ruled to support this club, so that next year it can achieve one of its primary goals – promotion to League Two,” said Plamen Milanov.
The team’s head coach, Dmitri Todorov, says that the financial support is extremely important for the club and for the players.
“For us, it means, first of all, stability. We will no longer need to worry about where to find money to reward the children, since our juniors play for free. It is very difficult to motivate them to come to matches when they receive nothing. This support will help us keep them close to the team and allow them to dedicate themselves fully to football,” Todorov said.
At the same time, the ARBOM president announced the intention to launch a large-scale project to modernize the city stadium in Taraclia, which is expected to become the home base of Levski Trakia and contribute to the development of sports infrastructure in the south of Moldova.
“We came together with the official responsible for sports infrastructure from the Moldovan Football Federation, in order to assess the condition of the stadium and to launch the modernization process, so that the local team and all young sportspeople can play official League Two matches here. The Federation is ready to invest with us in this project. We will also discuss this with the city hall representatives,” Milanov said.
According to him, the estimated cost of the project is about 8 million lei and it will be supported by the Moldovan Football Federation (FMF).
The FMF infrastructure expert, Igor Soltanici, believes that, after modernization, the Taraclia stadium will be able to host League B matches.
“There is a categorization of stadiums, and the higher the league is, the stricter the criteria are. From what we see here, the stadium has very high potential,” Soltanici noted.
For his part, the Levski Trakia team captain, Martin Luchianov, says that the modernization of the stadium would have a direct impact on the quality of play and the safety of the footballers.
“If the stadium is renovated, it will be extraordinary. The quality of football will improve, there will be fewer mistakes in the game and fewer injuries, because the current pitch causes many problems for the players,” he said.
FC Levski Trakia from Taraclia has recently become champion of the U-19 Youth League.
