Six Moldovan sportspeople participate in Paralympic Games in Tokyo
Chisinau, 20 August /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova will be represented by six sportspeople at the Paralympic Games in Tokyo.
Sportspeople Oleg Creţul and Ion Basoc (judo), Vladimir Butucea and Oxana Spătaru (athleticism), Denis Raiul and Larisa Marinencova (powerlifting) are those who qualified for participating in the Paralympic Games in Tokyo, due to take place on 24 August – 5 September.
The best result recorded by the Paralympic sportspeople belongs to Oleg Cretul, who ranked fifth at the World Championship for blind people.
Oleg Crețul is the acting head of the Paralympic Committee of Moldova and is a blind man. The Moldovan sportsman three times participated in Paralympic Game and once at the Atlanta Olympic Games in 1996. He won a silver medal at the Athens Olympic Games in 2004 and a golden medal in Beijing in 2008.
