Almost 500 households in northern district of Moldova connected to water supply

Chisinau, 10 October /MOLDPRES/ – A water supply project, coordinated by the North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord), was finalised in Bahrinesti locality, Floresti district. As a result, 447 households are connected to water supply system, and 47 other houses will be provided within upcoming perspectives.  
The set of documents proving the investment cost of goods, works and services was sent to the Mayoralty of village Bahrinesti on 09 October by the leadership of ADR Nord. Thus, the local authorities assumed all the responsibilities of managing the new aqueduct.
"We have achieved a great deal for the Northern Region of the country, especially for Floresti district. The value of the construction and assembly works of the Bahrinesti village aqueduct system, with a length of 23.3 km, amounts up to MDL 8.19 million. This sum reflects the cost of earthworks, construction of water supply networks, fitting of pipes, valves and hydrants, arrangement of territory, services of technical officer and elaboration of info panels. Now local people will have quality water, which means, first and foremost, healthier living," said director of ADR Nord, Vitali Povonschi.
The execution of the construction and assembly works of the water system at Baghinesti is one of the stages of implementation of project: Water for life in the Northern Region: Floresti and Soroca. The total project budget amounts to MDL 66.08 million, out of which MDL 29.90 million supplied the National Regional Development Fund (FNDR) and MDL 29.92 million – co-financing of Swiss Water Project and Sanitation in Moldova (ApaSan).
Also, MDL 4.73 million of the total budget of the project represents the contribution of the beneficiary population, MDL 1.42 million – contribution of Servicii Comunale Floresti, which is also the system operator, and MDL 0.451 million – contribution of the local public authorities.
The project mentioned ApaSan supports ensuring access to quality water in localities Zaluceni Targul – Vertiujeni, Vertiujeni and Japca and from FNDR are funded project phases related to localities Bahrinesti, Cuhurestii de Sus and Cuhurestii de Jos.
