Balti-based lyceum to undergo energy optimization till late 2021
Chisinau, 18 January /MOLDPRES/ - A project titled, Enhancing the energy efficiency of the Dimitrie Cantemir theoretical lyceum from the Balti city, financed by the European Union, is to be carried out in northern Moldova will late 2021, according to the North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord).
As a result of energy efficiency measures, about 900 pupils and 80 teachers and auxiliary staff will benefit from improved education conditions and a comfortable education environment. The lyceum will benefit from such measures as restoration of the roof, insulation of building’s walls, replacing windows, rehabilitation of the heating system, supply with warm and cold running water, renovation of the sanitary units inside the institution, etc. ‘’Following the project’s implementation, the annual normed consumption of energy at the education institution will decrease, according to estimations, by 547 MW/hour and the normed annual emissions of CO2 – by 125 tons,’’ ADR Nord said.
The North Regional Development Agency and the Balti city hall in late 2020 signed the general contractor agreement, on technical supervision and copyright for the aforementioned project. Following public tender procedures, decision-makers established that the energy optimization works at the Balti-based lyceum must be carried out during ten calendar months. The value of the general contractor agreement amounts to 19.27 million lei, of which 132,680 lei represents the contribution of the Balti city hall.
The investment measure, Enhancing the energy efficiency of the Dimitrie Cantemir theoretical lyceum from the Balti city, is financed by the European Union within the project, Modernization of Local Public Services in Moldova. It is implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ Moldova), in partnership with the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry and financially backed by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
