Chisinau, Nov. 7 /MOLDPRES/- Best winemakers from Gagauzia were honored yesterday, during an event organized by the authorities of the autonomy, with the support of the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
On November 6, the Wine Festival in Gagauzia returned after a two-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic and gathered dozens of wineries from all over the country, including 11 wineries from the region, in the central square of Comrat.
The guests of the festival had the opportunity to discover the customs of Gagauzia, the national cuisine Gagauz Sofrasi and enjoy a cultural-artistic program.
The event has been held since 2007, on the first Sunday of November. USAID supports traditional events with tourism potential to strengthen the position of the Republic of Moldova on the global map as an authentic tourist destination.
