About 6.5 million lei allocated for providing cultural vouchers in Moldova, from which 7,200 young people benefited
Chisinau, 20 November /MOLDPRES/ - About 6.5 million lei has been allocated for the providing of cultural vouchers, from which 7,200 young people benefited with ages of 18 years during the two years since the programme’s launch. The Culture Ministry considers possibility to extend the programme also for elderly people. The spokesman for the government, Daniel Voda, today made statements to this effect.
„Most users chose to buy books, among which the most popular tiles were works on personal development, education guides for the Baccalaureate examination and geography volumes. As for the events, most opted for concerts and screenings of movies and showed less interest in theatre plays. Among the productions watched, there were native films and diverse musical events, concerts of Moldovan artists,’’ Daniel Voda said after the cabinet meeting.
The spokesman for the government invited all young people who had still not turned to account the voucher to necessarily do this.
The decision-makers in charge of the project from the Culture Ministry believe that interest and the number of beneficiaries from the potential ones might increase, if the mechanism was simplified and the list of providers was diversified.
The Cultural Voucher national programme was launched in November 2022, according to the example of other European countries. The voucher represents ‘’a non-refundable digital ticket’’ worth 1,000 lei, with which the holders can go to concerts, theatre plays or movies and purchase books, till the sum is exhausted, during one year.
The voucher can be used only online, in bookshops and on such specialized platforms as iTicket, Mtiket or Afisha. The young people who turned 18 years and have a digital signature, needed for authentication, can benefit from cultural voucher.
