Week of reading and books for children starts at Chisinau-based museum
Chisinau, 1 April /MOLDPRES/ - The National Museum of Romanian Literature, in partnership with the Institute for Cultural and Educational Initiatives, organizes two events dedicated to the small readers within the week of reading and books for children (1-7 April).
Thus, according to the organizers, an exhibition titled, Books of my childhood, will be inaugurated at the museum on 3 April at 15:00. The exhibition displays a string of books from the Romanian literature, meant for the small readers, and fine art inspired from childhood’s books. The entrance is free. The exhibition could be visited till 30 April.
A MEDA (Museum Educational and Didactic Activities) reading and artistic creation workshop will be held on 5 April at 15:00. The workshop proposes, at this edition, the turning to good account of the work by writer Alexei Mateevici and is meant for pupils from gymnasiums. The MEDA workshop is a project financed by the Culture Ministry. The participation is based on invitations.
Both events will be held at the National Museum of Romanian Literature, Alexe Mateevici Street 79.
Each year starting from 1967, the International Children’s Book Day has been marked on 2 April. This is the birthday of the well-known writer Hans Christian Andersen, who was the author of the best known fairy-tales. The marking of this day internationally is set to cultivate the love for reading in children and to emphasize the benefits of the reading.
