About 400 families of Moldova apply to Green Home Programme in first week after launch

About 400 families have applied to the Green Home Programme in the first week after its launch. They can benefit from grants of up to 200,000 lei, in order to improve the energy efficiency of their homes and reduce energy invoices, according to data of the National Center for Sustainable Energy (NCSE).

‘’This demand shows how necessary solutions for better-insulated, more comfortable and environmentally friendly homes are,’’ highlighted the NCSE.

The Green Home Programme is part of the Residential Sector Energy Efficiency Fund (RSEEF). Through this new initiative, the state supports investments in sustainable housing and thus contributes to reducing energy consumption, lowering invoices and protecting the environment.

‘’A concrete step towards warmer homes, lower invoices and a cleaner environment,’’ said Daniel Voda, spokesperson for the Government.

The initiative was launched July 3. The project offers beneficiaries non-refundable financing of up to 200,000 lei for a wide range of works aimed at increasing the energy efficiency of homes. This includes thermal insulation of external walls, roofs, and floors, helping to reduce heat losses and maintain optimal thermal comfort.

Additionally, the program supports the modernization of heating and ventilation systems, including the installation of efficient heating plants and heat recovery ventilation systems, in order to ensure reduced energy consumption and healthy indoor air.

Beneficiaries can submit applications online via the platform www.feerm.md, where they can access useful information, identify authorized suppliers, and track the progress of financing stages. The entire process will be monitored step by step by the NCSE specialists and the grant payment will be made only after the final reception of the works.

The total budget of the Programme is 185 million lei. From this amount, around 930 families will be able to benefit from support. For this year, authorities plan a budget of 149 million lei, aimed at about 750 beneficiaries.

The RSEEF Programme is developed by the government of Moldova with financial support from the European Union, implemented by the National Center for Sustainable Energy, and the Ministry of Energy, supported by the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy for Moldova (E4M) project. E4M is implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), along with the government of Moldova, funded by the German government, and co-funded by the European Union, Norway and Denmark.
