Authorities coordinate actions to eliminate consequences of bad weather
The responsible authorities are coordinating their actions to efficiently manage the situation created by bad weather, so that citizens remain safe. The assurance was given by Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu.
“This winter is less mild with us. We are facing a difficult situation. Several countries are experiencing extreme situations caused by weather conditions,” stated Alexandru Munteanu at the beginning of today’s Government meeting.
The official thanked all intervention teams that have been working around the clock to manage the situation, especially rescuers, road workers, energy sector staff, police officers, and medical personnel.
“We are prepared to intervene. We will continue to make our activities more efficient. The services are coordinating their actions. It is important that we continue to do so,” noted the Prime Minister. T
he Prime Minister urged citizens to be cautious, avoid non-essential travel, pay special attention to children, and show solidarity with elderly people who need assistance.
Over 1,700 employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI), with about 500 special vehicles, have been involved over the last 24 hours in operational missions carried out across the entire country. Due to icy conditions, more than 150 road accidents occurred nationwide, one of which resulted in a fatality.
