Moldovan PM says lasting peace, geopolitical problems have come to forefront at Davos Economic Forum
The delegation led by Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu today returned from the Davos Economic Forum. “It has been two intense days and the discussions on lasting peace and geopolitical problems have come to the forefront,” said Prime Minister Munteanu at the beginning of the today’s cabinet meeting, held immediately after the PM returned to Moldova.
The prime minister noted that, at this year’s edition of the event, the focus had been especially on political and geopolitical problems, alongside economic matters.
“Today, we are meeting outside the usual hours, in the afternoon, because we returned to Chisinau only an hour ago. We have come back from Davos, where the 56th edition of the World Economic Forum took place. It has been two intense days of discussions. This year’s edition of the event was not so much focused on economic issues as on political and geopolitical ones. Naturally, there was also discussion about economic growth and stimulating investments. We addressed these topics during our bilateral and multilateral meetings. But of course, lasting peace and geopolitical issues have come to the forefront,” said Prime Minister Munteanu.
On January 19–22 2026, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu and Deputy Prime Minister Eugeniu Osmochescu took part in the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
