Local Product // Speaker urges citizens to buy local products
Speaker Igor Grosu is urging citizens to support local producers and choose Moldovan products. During his visit to Local Product exhibition, held at Moldexpo, he praised the largest sour cherry pie in the Republic of Moldova, registered as a national record.
“Today, at the national exhibition ‘Local Product’, local producers baked together and set a national record – the largest sour cherry pie,” Igor Grosu said.
A sour cherry pie of impressive dimensions has become a national record. Employees of Milina Bakery Plant in Taraclia prepared in Chișinău a pie with a length of 9.2 meters and a width of two meters, its total surface reaching 18.4 square meters. The record was officially registered at Local Product exhibition, held at Moldexpo.
The Speaker encouraged citizens to visit the exhibition, where this year around 300 producers from the Republic of Moldova are presenting their products. He recalled that the law requiring retail chains to clearly display the country of origin of products has recently entered into force, which in his view makes it easier to choose local products.
The event is taking place on 28–30 August at Moldexpo International Exhibition Center. The event brings together around 300 producers from across the country and promotes local products and brands.
